Let us come to you to present! We offer the following courses approved for continuing education credits by the PA State Board of Physical Therapy.

Prosthetics

Overview of Lower Limb Prosthetics (1 CEU)

The course will review current trends in lower limb prosthetics. Socket design, suspension, Knees, Feet, and endoskeletal components will be discussed. Medicare’s classification of Functional Levels (K levels) of amputees will be discussed and how it impacts the prosthetic prescription. Basic fitting criteria, including sock management will be reviewed. Care and maintenance of prosthetic supplies as well as proper patient hygiene will be discussed.

Prosthetic Fitting Criteria and Troubleshooting Tips (1 CEU)

The course will cover biomechanical principals involved in lower limb prosthetic sockets. Fitting parameters will be discussed and how they impact fit and function. Problems associated with prosthetic sockets and alignment will be discussed, as well as remedies. Amputee gait deviations will be reviewed. Sock management will be discussed and the importance of it.

Orthotics

Orthotics Interventions for Acute or Long Term Physical Rehabilitation (1 CEU)

This course will review indications and criteria for orthotic intervention for patients receiving physical therapy either in acute or long term rehabilitation. The presentation will focus on clinical considerations in regards to diagnosis, physical function analysis, patient focused goals and long term prognosis. We encourage a group discussion for troubleshooting treatment issues in regards to this population.

Pediatric Orthotic Considerations and Implementations (1 CEU)

This course will review indications and criteria for orthotic intervention for the pediatric population. The presentation will focus on clinical considerations in regards to diagnosis, physical function analysis, patient focused goals and long term prognosis. We encourage a group discussion for troubleshooting treatment issues in regards to this population.

Cranial Remolding Orthosis for Treatment of Deformational Plagiocephaly (1 CEU)

For health professionals whom provide therapeutic care for infants whom present with torticollis and/or deformational plagiocephaly. The presentation will discuss causes, varying diagnoses of cranial deformities, repositioning techniques and efficacy of treatments. We will discuss torticollis and it’s role in causing deformational plagiocephaly. We will provide an overview of cranial remolding orthoses including protocols and the referral process. We encourage a group discussion for troubleshooting treatment issues in regards to this population.

Ankle Foot Orthoses (1 CEU)

This course will review indications and criteria for use and design of ankle foot orthoses. The presentation will focus on clinical considerations in regards to material science, component options and selections, clinical indications and contraindications and current treatment trends. We encourage a group discussion for troubleshooting tolerance and effectiveness of ankle foot orthosis use.
